DESCRIPTION:Join us in Punakaiki for a grass-roots weekend of trail running and celebration. Whether you’re tackling the 55km Paparoa Ultra or cheering on the next generation of athletes in our 1.5km Kids Fun Run\, there’s something for the whole family with this community-driven event.  \nThe Paparoa Ultra\, limited to 200 competitors\, offers a rare chance to run an iconic NZ Great Walk in race format. Covering the full length of the trail\, this event takes you from dense native forest to alpine tops\, across swing bridges\, and past dramatic limestone cliffs\, all on one of the country’s most spectacular backcountry journeys. \nRemote and mostly self-supported\, this ultra marathon is for experienced runners only\, ready to take on a true adventure. With limited aid on course\, you’ll need to be fit\, prepared\, and capable of looking after yourself in an unpredictable environment. \nThe 1.5km Kids Fun Run is limited to 50 competitors.
